Dreams

I know it's been some time since I made a new photo but I've been busy working on house projects, which is always a lot of fun! (Check out my Practical Moose blog for that.) Last night I took some time to work on a photo that I had taken during the summer and this is the result. I love the dream like quality of this one.

Ghosts of the Past

"Ghosts of the Past"

This old building once was used as a monastery many years ago, among other things. It has fallen into disrepair over the years and now sadly it is completely caving in and coming apart making it very unsafe. The city put a lock and fence around it for safety. It makes you wonder what life took place within these walls.

This morning I caught two little birds on camera. They were such cute little birds.

Got this shot while out with my daughter a couple days ago. It caught my eye and I knew exactly how I wanted to create this piece.

I love anything rustic and this one captures that entirely.

I enjoyed making this one. It has two things I love - winter trees and snow. It creates the perfect background for contrast, atmosphere, and mood. :)

Back with Something New and Different

I'm getting back to this blog but for a different reason and with something new and different as well.

For the past couple of years I've had to work to help support the family, but what comes with work is just more work, such as all household chores, being a taxi for the kids, cooking, helping my son with his homeschooling, and so on and so forth along with working full time. It's exhausting! Let me tell you, I have complete and total respect for all working mothers, especially single mothers. I have no idea how the single mothers of our world survive. But I digress.

So anyway, back to this blog post. With work and everything else I come to the end of the day exhausted without adequate time or energy to draw or paint, yet I very much miss being artistic. What better way to be creative that doesn't take as much time or energy then with photography? And with my iPhone that makes it all the easier!

So here's my first artistically edited photo from my iPhone. It was fun being able to be creative again that works with my lack of time. I hope to do more of these often.
I'm calling this one "Grounded Texture."
